Opening a V1 Casino account and keeping control of the login

Updated
An account is only as safe as the way into it. At V1 Casino we ask a new member to take four decisions at registration, and each of them affects how easily the account can be defended or recovered later: the email address, the password, the currency and the personal details.
- Choose the registration option on our site.
- Enter an email address that you can open at any time.
- Choose a password that you use nowhere else.
- Select the account currency, which for members in Australia is AUD.
- Enter your full name, date of birth and address as they appear on your identity document.
- Confirm that you are 18 or older and accept our terms.
- Confirm the email address if we send a message asking for it.
| Item entered | Why it matters later | If it is wrong |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Receives our messages and any request for documents | Contact support from a working address |
| Password | The only key to the account | Ask support to help restore access |
| Currency | Fixes the currency of every balance | Contact support before depositing |
| Personal details | Must match your documents | Ask support to correct them |
Join nowA password that holds
We never set a password for a member and never ask for it in a message. The member chooses it, and these habits keep it secure.
- Use a password that is not used on another service.
- Make it long rather than clever: several unrelated words resist guessing better than one word with a number.
- Keep it in a password manager or on paper in a safe place, and never in a note on the phone that holds the account.
- Change it at once if a device that held it is lost or shared.
- Do not give it to anyone, including a person who says they act for us.
The email address as the recovery route
Everything we send goes to the registered email, and every request to change a detail is checked against it. A member who loses the password writes to our support team from the registered address, and we explain the steps that follow. A member who has lost access to the mailbox as well should say so in the first message, because we may then ask for a document that shows the account holder’s name. A mistyped address leaves the account without a working route, and for this reason we ask members to read the address twice before they submit the form.
Recovering access, step by step
- Write to [email protected] from the registered email.
- State that the password is lost and give the name on the account.
- Reply to any question we ask about the account.
- Send a current, complete document if we request one.
- Set a new password when we confirm that access can be restored.
- Check the account settings for any limit you want to review.
Documents and the first withdrawal
We may ask for proof of identity or address, most often before a first withdrawal. A document must show the member’s full name and date of birth, be current, and be photographed or scanned in full with all four edges visible. Where we ask for proof of address, it must show the same address that was entered at registration. A cropped image, a covered corner or a glare over the text is returned and the check starts again.
The person who registered must be the person who is paid. For that reason the details on the account must match the documents, and the payment method must belong to the member.
Signs that someone else has the login
We ask members to treat each of the following as a reason to write to us at once.
- A balance or a withdrawal that the member did not make.
- A message in our name that asks for a password or a document by a route other than our support address.
- A change of detail on the account that the member did not request.
- A sign-in that the member did not make.
On receiving such a message we check the account, and we explain what the member should do next. The member should change the password on any other service where it was used.
Changing a detail later
A change of name, address or email is requested from the registered address, and we may ask for a document that supports the change. Amounts are in AUD.
One person, one account
An account belongs to the person who opened it, and a person holds one account. A duplicate profile makes withdrawals stall, so a member who already has an account returns to it and does not open another. Registration is open to adults only, and an account opened with a false date of birth is not valid.
Limits from the first day
Deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders and time-outs are available in account settings as soon as the account is open. A member who wants a ceiling in place before the first deposit can set it first. A member may also close the account at any time, and no reason is required.
